Best SEO Agencies in Calgary (2026): 11 Agencies Compared on Proof, Price and AI Search

Best SEO Agencies in Calgary (2026)

By Dmytro Klimchuk, CEO & Founder, mmore | Last updated October 20, 2026 | Agency data checked October 14, 2026

Picking from the best SEO agencies in Calgary is harder than it looks. Most “top agency” lists repeat star ratings and service menus, so every agency ends up sounding the same.

This list is built on what you can check. For each of the 11 agencies, we opened their website and review profiles and recorded which results they publish with a client name attached, what they charge, what they guarantee, how much of their work is actually SEO, and how they handle AI search tools like ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews.

One disclosure up front: mmore wrote this list, and we rank ourselves first. We ran the same checks on ourselves as on everyone else, and for each type of business we name the agency we’d suggest if it weren’t us. This guide is for Calgary business owners and marketing leads who are about to hire, or replace, an SEO agency.

Quick answer: The best SEO agency in Calgary overall is mmore, for businesses that want Google, Google Maps and AI search handled as one plan, backed by named and checkable client results. Konstruct Digital is the pick for B2B and industrial firms, dNOVO for law firms, and Kobzza, Marvel Marketing or Get X Media for home service trades.

Key takeaways

  • Judge agencies on results you can check: a named client, a number, and a link to the full story. Star ratings show satisfaction, not results.
  • Seven of the 11 agencies publish prices. Ongoing SEO from these Calgary agencies starts between about $1,500 and $4,000 a month.
  • Three agencies offer written guarantees (Marvel Marketing, Get X Media and GrowME). Read the terms, because Google says no one can guarantee rankings.
  • Make sure you own your Google Business Profile, Search Console, analytics and website logins before you sign.
  • Rankings alone no longer guarantee clicks. Since AI Overviews rolled out, the top Google result’s click-through rate fell from 28% to 19% (GrowthSRC, 2025), so ask how each agency gets you into AI answers too.

Which Calgary SEO agencies are worth shortlisting in 2026?

Eleven agencies passed our checks. Nine are headquartered in Calgary, and dNOVO (Toronto) and Andy Kuiper (Edmonton) serve Calgary from local offices. Data comes from each agency’s website, Clutch and Google, checked October 14, 2026.

What does an SEO agency in Calgary actually do?

An SEO agency improves how often your business shows up, and gets chosen, in Google Search, Google Maps and AI answer tools like ChatGPT and Perplexity. The work usually covers five areas:

  • Technical audits and site fixes
  • Content for your service and location pages
  • Google Business Profile and local listings
  • Links and mentions from other trusted sites
  • Reporting tied to calls, leads or revenue

An SEO agency cannot guarantee a #1 ranking. Google says this plainly in its own guide to hiring an SEO. Treat any promise of guaranteed rankings as a question to ask, not a reason to sign.

How we chose these 11: the mmore Proof Check

We started with every agency that markets SEO services in Calgary and cut the list using five checks. We call it the mmore Proof Check, and we ran it on ourselves too.

  1. Checkable proof. A named client, a specific number and somewhere you can verify it. We weighted this check most.
  2. Price transparency. Published prices, a minimum engagement, or at least an hourly rate.
  3. SEO focus. How much of the agency’s work is actually SEO, based on its own Clutch profile and website.
  4. Fair terms. Whether the agency states who owns your accounts and whether you are locked into a long contract.
  5. AI search readiness. Whether the agency offers and explains work for AI Overviews, ChatGPT and other AI answers.

Review counts are supporting evidence, not proof. A 5.0 rating tells you clients were happy, but not whether their calls or revenue grew. That is why a named result counts for more in this list than a star rating.

How much of each agency’s work is actually SEO?

SEO ranges from 10% to 90% of the work at the agencies on this list. The share comes from each agency’s Clutch profile or website (mmore’s is our own figure), and it tells you whether SEO is the main job or one service among many.

AgencySEO share of workOther main services
mmore90%Google Ads, web development
dNOVO75%PPC, AI consulting, web design
Andy Kuiper Internet Marketing75%Google and Bing Ads
iNet Media60%Web design, PPC, reputation management
Kobzza50%Websites, Google Ads
Konstruct Digital45%PPC (40%), content
Blink Digital Consulting40%PPC, advertising, CRM
Marvel Marketing30%Web design (40%), PPC
Get X Media30%Web design (40%), PPC
GrowME Marketing20%Ads, strategy, web design (20% each)
CAYK Marketing10%Ten services at 10% each, incl. fractional CMO

A low share is not bad on its own. GrowME, for example, lists SEO at 20% on Clutch but publishes several #1 ranking results. It does mean you should ask who on the team does the SEO work and how many hours it gets each month.

Who owns your accounts, and can you leave?

You should own every account your SEO depends on and be free to leave if results stall. Before you sign, confirm in writing that you hold owner-level access to your Google Business Profile, Search Console, Google Analytics 4, domain, hosting, website admin and any call tracking numbers.

Here is what each agency states publicly about ownership and contracts:

AgencyWhat it states publicly
mmoreNo locked contracts; clients own every account, including Search Console, GA4 and Google Business Profile
KobzzaClients own everything
CAYK MarketingClients get direct access to and ownership of their data; 3-month minimum, then month to month
dNOVONo long-term contracts; works with only one client per niche in each region
Andy KuiperNo monthly contracts; you pay only for hours worked
Get X MediaNo locked contracts; asks for a 3 to 6 month runway

For agencies not in this table, we did not find a public statement, so ask directly on your first call.

How much does SEO cost with a Calgary agency?

Seven of the 11 agencies publish prices or a minimum spend. Ongoing SEO starts between about $1,500 and $4,000 a month.

AgencyPublished priceWhat it covers
Andy Kuiper$165 an hour; new clients budget up to $1,500 a month; audit about $600Hourly SEO, no contracts

dNOVOFrom $4,000 a monthMarketing services

Konstruct Digital (minimum project $5,000 on Clutch), GrowME, Blink and iNet Media quote after a call.

Which agencies offer a guarantee?

Three agencies put a guarantee in writing:

  • Marvel Marketing: for qualified clients, if you see no measurable results in 90 days, it keeps working at no extra charge.
  • Get X Media: every plan is guaranteed to show results in 90 days, or it works for free.
  • GrowME Marketing: SEO that returns a positive ROI within 12 months, or services are free until it does.

These guarantee effort or return, not rankings, which is the honest way to do it. Before you sign, ask each agency exactly how “results” or “ROI” will be measured.

The 11 best SEO agencies in Calgary, reviewed one by one

1. mmore: best overall for local, multi-location and nationwide SEO with AI search

mmore SEO agency website homepage

mmore is a Calgary SEO agency that handles Google Search, Google Maps and AI search (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews) as one plan, built around calls, leads and revenue. We work with clients across Canada and the US.

Best suited to: local service businesses, multi-location brands, and SaaS or digital companies growing nationwide.

Services: Local SEO, Multi-Location SEO, Nationwide SEO, AI Search (GEO/AEO), SEO content writing, Google Ads and web development.

Results you can check: every case study names the client and links to the full write-up.

ClientPublished result
Yard Dawgs (lawn care)Page 2 to #1 on Google across 4 cities
ATX Jewelry Exchange+300% organic traffic
Spark Social (social media agency)#1 nationwide ranking for its core service
Tradogram (global B2B SaaS)5x organic traffic

We were stuck on page 2, and Dmytro and his team got us to #1 for all our top high-volume, high-quality keywords in just a few months.

Liam Sunstrum, Vice President, Yard Dawgs Lawn Care

What it costs: fully managed SEO and GEO campaigns start from C$2,000 a month, with no locked contracts, and you own every account.

The trade-off: we are newer to review platforms like Clutch, so judge us on the case studies above rather than a star count. And if you want branding, video and print from the same agency, CAYK Marketing or GrowME covers more of that.

2. Konstruct Digital: best for B2B, manufacturing and industrial companies

Konstruct Digital website homepage

Konstruct Digital is a Calgary B2B agency, founded in 2012, that splits its work between SEO (45%) and paid ads (40%), with half its client base in manufacturing.

Best suited to: mid-market B2B firms with long sales cycles, especially manufacturing, energy and technology.

What it does well: 4.9 stars from 71 Clutch reviews, many with named results. One manufacturer moved from page 20 to page 5 of Google, and a business services client grew its top-3 rankings from 243 to 369 keywords while starting AI search work. Clients consistently praise its weekly updates.

The trade-off: it is less suited to small local consumer businesses, and Clutch’s review summary notes that some clients mention changes in account managers.

Ask them: “Who will manage my account, and how long have they worked here?”

3. Kobzza: best for home service companies wanting one bundle

Kobzza website homepage

Kobzza is a Calgary agency built for home service businesses such as roofing, plumbing, HVAC and restoration, combining SEO, Google Ads and custom websites. It also has offices in Red Deer, Edmonton, Toronto, Chicago and Las Vegas.

Best suited to: established home service companies with roughly $300,000 to $15 million in revenue, based on its own pricing tiers.

What it does well: four published monthly tiers, 150+ Google reviews, 500+ companies served, and a public statement that clients own everything. It offers GEO (AI search) work and names client results, such as Calgary’s Excel Trailers with an 875% increase in leads.

The trade-off: the tiers bundle SEO with Google Ads, websites and hosting, so check how much of the fee is SEO if that is all you need. Kobzza also says it does not work with startups, and it publishes its own “best agencies in Calgary” list, so read every roundup, this one included, with healthy skepticism.

Ask them: “How many hours a month go to SEO in my tier?”

4. dNOVO: best for law firms and medical practices

dNOVO website homepage

dNOVO is a Toronto-headquartered agency focused on law firms, medical practices and home services, with a Calgary office downtown. SEO makes up 75% of its work, one of the highest shares on this list.

Best suited to: law firms, medical and dental practices, and companies that want SEO as the core service.

What it does well: 5.0 stars from 71 Clutch reviews, a published starting price of $4,000 a month, no long-term contracts, and a one-client-per-niche-per-region policy, so it will not also work for your direct competitor. It names law firm clients, such as Forum Law growing from 8 to 20+ lawyers in two years.

The trade-off: the Calgary office has 6 to 9 people, about 17% of staff, and its starting price is the highest published on this list.

Ask them: “Will my strategist work from the Calgary office?”

5. Marvel Marketing: best for home service trades

Marvel Marketing website homepage

Marvel Marketing is a Calgary agency founded in 2014 by Ryan McRae, who came from the trades. It focuses on HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical and other home service businesses, with offices in Toronto and Vancouver.

Best suited to: trades and local service businesses that want SEO, ads and a website that converts.

What it does well: published starting prices (local SEO and AI search from $1,500 a month each), a 90-day results guarantee for qualified clients, and named results. DiamondCut Roofing saw 211% more traffic and top-3 rankings from SEO, and Irontek saw 448% more leads after a new website and local SEO. Rated 4.9 from 19 Clutch reviews.

The trade-off: web design is its largest service line (40%), and it is built for trades, so it is a weaker fit for B2B or SaaS.

Ask them: “What counts as a measurable result under your guarantee?”

6. Get X Media: best for essential service businesses on a budget

Get X Media website homepage

Get X Media is a Calgary agency for plumbers, electricians, contractors and other essential service businesses, founded by Corey Hayes, who also worked in the trades.

Best suited to: small and mid-size service businesses doing roughly $300,000 to $3 million a year.

What it does well: published tiers of $1,750, $3,500 and $5,500+ a month (CAD), no locked contracts, and live keyword data for named clients. Urban Piping ranks for 45 keywords in Google’s top 3, and Calgary Radon Detection went from 3 to 31 top-3 rankings in three months. Clients track everything in Get X Media’s own reporting app.

The trade-off: every plan comes with “guaranteed results in 90 days”, so ask exactly what is guaranteed, since Google says no one can guarantee rankings. It also has only 5 Clutch reviews.

7. GrowME Marketing: best for full-service marketing with an SEO guarantee

GrowME Marketing website homepage

GrowME Marketing is a full-service Calgary agency founded in 2013, with about 34 people across SEO, paid media, branding and websites.

Best suited to: businesses that want SEO, ads and branding from one team, especially in law, home building and renovation.

What it does well: 4.8 stars from 158 Google reviews and named SEO results, including #1 for “divorce lawyer calgary” and “Calgary home renovations”, and a 400% traffic increase for Edwards Injury Law. It guarantees SEO a positive ROI within 12 months, or services are free until it does, and it offers GEO for AI search.

The trade-off: SEO is one of many services (20% on Clutch), and it has only 6 Clutch reviews.

Ask them: “Who leads SEO on my account, and how will ROI be measured for the guarantee?”

8. CAYK Marketing: best for B2B companies wanting a marketing department

CAYK Marketing website homepage

CAYK Marketing is a Calgary agency with roots going back to 1994 and offices across Western Canada, Toronto and Phoenix. It is built for B2B and high-ticket sales companies.

Best suited to: companies that want strategy, ads, SEO and analytics on one retainer, with fractional CMO support.

What it does well: a dedicated head of SEO, a stated $2,000 monthly minimum with a 3-month minimum term then month to month, and a public commitment that clients own their data. Rated 4.9 from 38 Clutch reviews, 23 from Calgary-area clients.

The trade-off: SEO is about 10% of its work, and its published case studies do not name clients.

Ask them: “Can you show me an SEO result with a client name I can check?”

9. Andy Kuiper Internet Marketing: best for hands-on local SEO with no contracts

Andy Kuiper Internet Marketing website homepage

Andy Kuiper is an Edmonton-based SEO consultant with a Calgary office, doing SEO since 2009 with a small, long-standing team. He has contributed to Whitespark’s Local Search Ranking Factors survey for six editions.

Best suited to: small and mid-size Alberta businesses that want an experienced local SEO specialist and no lock-in.

What it does well: fully transparent pricing ($165 an hour, a typical budget of up to $1,500 a month, and an audit of about $600), no monthly contracts, 5.0 from 24 Clutch reviews and 140+ Google reviews.

The trade-off: a small team, based in Edmonton, and by its own estimate significant results usually take 6 to 9 months.

10. Blink Digital Consulting: best for small budgets and connected systems

Blink Digital Consulting website homepage

Blink Digital Consulting is a small Calgary agency (2 to 9 people) with a second base in Pretoria, South Africa. It connects SEO, AI visibility, ads, CRM and automated follow-up.

Best suited to: small businesses, including law firms, accounting firms, clinics and trades, that want SEO and lead follow-up in one system.

What it does well: the lowest hourly rate on this list ($50 to $99), a published 52-point SEO quality checklist, and 4.9 from 19 Clutch reviews, most for projects under $10,000.

The trade-off: a small team split across two continents, so ask who works on your account and in which time zone.

11. iNet Media: best for full-service web, SEO and reputation management

iNet Media website homepage

iNet Media is a long-running Calgary agency with 11 to 50 staff, covering web design, SEO, PPC, online display, reputation management and social media. It also runs iNet Ag for agricultural businesses.

Best suited to: businesses that want their website, SEO, ads and online reputation handled by one local team.

What it does well: broad in-house services under one roof, and it says it has worked with more than 3,000 businesses.

The trade-off: we could not find recently published SEO results with client names and numbers.

Ask them: “Can you share two or three current SEO results with client names?”

Why AI visibility matters when you choose an SEO agency

When you choose an SEO agency in 2026, check how it handles AI visibility, not just Google rankings. More of your customers now ask ChatGPT, Gemini or Google’s AI Mode for a recommendation before they ever see a list of links.

The shift happened fast:

  • 45% of consumers used an AI tool to find a local business in the past year, up from 6% the year before. ChatGPT alone was used by 31% (BrightLocal Local Consumer Review Survey, 2026).
  • Clicks drop when AI answers appear. Google users clicked a regular search result in 8% of visits when an AI summary appeared, compared with 15% when it did not (Pew Research Center, 2025).
  • AI names a few businesses, not ten. A Google results page shows ten links and a map pack. An AI answer usually names one to three businesses, so if you are not one of them, that customer may never see you.

The good news: AI visibility builds on SEO, it does not replace it. AI tools lean on the same signals Google uses, like your website content, Google Business Profile and reviews. BrightLocal found that 97% of people who use AI for recommendations check the answer against real reviews at least some of the time. An agency that does SEO well is halfway there, but only if it also tracks and works on the AI side.

What are AEO and GEO?

AEO (answer engine optimization) means structuring your content so AI tools and Google can lift a clear, direct answer from it, such as a service price, a process or a short definition.

GEO (generative engine optimization) means making your business the one AI tools mention and recommend. That depends on consistent facts about your business across your website, Google Business Profile, directories, reviews and other trusted sites.

Both start from solid SEO. The difference is what gets measured: rankings and clicks for SEO, mentions and citations in AI answers for AEO and GEO. We compare the two approaches in detail in traditional SEO vs LLM optimization.

Which Calgary SEO agencies offer AI search work?

Eight of the 11 agencies on this list sell AI search optimization services.

How to tell real AI search work from rebranded SEO

Many agencies added “AI” to their service names in the past year. Four questions separate real AI search work from a new label on old SEO:

  1. Which prompts will you track for my business? A real answer names them, such as “best plumber in Calgary” or “emergency electrician near me”.
  2. Which tool measures my AI visibility, and can I see the baseline before we start? Without a baseline, there is no way to prove progress.
  3. What will you change beyond my website? Expect work on your Google Business Profile, reviews, directory listings and mentions on trusted sites, because AI tools pull from all of them.
  4. How will AI mentions show up in my monthly report? They should sit next to rankings, calls and leads, not in a separate slide nobody reads.

If an agency’s whole answer is “we add FAQ schema”, AI search is a label, not a service.

At mmore, AI visibility is part of every SEO plan rather than an add-on. See how our AI search (GEO/AEO) service works.

What do clients actually say about Calgary SEO agencies?

The most useful reviews name a business, a number, and what went wrong. Here is what clients of the agencies on this list report, including the complaints.

Results clients report

  • mmore: Yard Dawgs Lawn Care went from page 2 to #1 for its top keywords within a few months, across four cities (case study).
  • Konstruct Digital: a Proterial Cable America marketer said their site moved from page 20 to page 5 of Google, and called the agency’s transparency its greatest strength (Clutch).
  • Marvel Marketing: a Google reviewer with six locations across Canada said all six reached positive ROI after about seven months of SEO and Google Ads.
  • Get X Media: a Google reviewer said the agency moved their business from Google’s third page to the top two results in three months.
  • GrowME Marketing: Tiptop Plumbing & Heating reported a noticeable rise in calls from Google within months of starting.
  • CAYK Marketing: a three-year client called switching to CAYK one of their best decisions, in a Google review.
  • Kobzza: Excel Trailers in Calgary reports an 875% increase in leads, and its owner says sales grew over 18 months of Google Ads and SEO.

What clients complain about

The complaints in these reviews are rarely about rankings. They are about continuity and direction after the first phase:

  • Account manager changes. Clutch’s summary of Konstruct Digital reviews notes some clients mention turnover in account management.
  • No roadmap after launch. A medical device client of Konstruct wanted clearer direction once the website build was done.
  • Reporting that does not match yours. A business services client had to ask for specific reporting views before the data matched how they track results.
  • Occasional delays. A long-term Get X Media client mentions some delays, while noting the team always explained them.

The lesson for buyers: ask every agency who your day-to-day contact will be, what happens after month three, and how reporting will map to your own numbers.

Should you hire an agency, a freelancer or someone in-house?

An agency fits most Calgary businesses spending $1,500 or more a month on SEO, because one team covers technical work, content, local listings and reporting. A freelancer can work for a single location on a small budget. In-house makes sense once SEO is a full-time job.

OptionBest forWatch out for
SEO agencyMultiple services or locations; growth goals with a deadlineJunior staff doing the work; accounts held by the agency
FreelancerOne location, small budget, a clear task listOne person’s capacity, holidays and sick days
In-house hireLarger companies with steady, ongoing SEO workSalary plus tools; one person rarely covers every skill

What are the red flags when hiring a Calgary SEO agency?

The biggest red flag is a promise you cannot verify. Watch for these on your first calls:

  • Guaranteed #1 rankings. Google says no one can promise this.
  • No named results. Every result is “a client in your industry” with no name and no link.
  • The agency owns your accounts. Your Google Business Profile, analytics or website sit under their login.
  • Long lock-in contracts with no exit clause tied to performance.
  • Reports full of rankings but no leads. Rankings are the means, calls and sales are the goal.
  • No answer on AI search. If an agency cannot explain how it gets clients into AI Overviews or ChatGPT answers, its process has not caught up.

If you already work with an agency and something feels off, our guide to the signs your SEO isn’t working includes five questions to ask them.

How do you choose the right Calgary SEO agency?

Start from what is actually broken, then match the agency to it. If calls are not coming in from Google Maps, you need local SEO depth (our guide on how to rank higher on Google Maps shows what that work involves). If your website is the problem, a design-led agency fits. If you sell B2B with long sales cycles, pick a B2B specialist.

If this sounds like your businessStart your shortlist with
You serve customers in one or several cities and want more calls from Google, Maps and AI answersmmore
You have several locations, or you are growing across Canada and the USmmore
You run a home service company and want SEO, ads and a website togetherKobzza, Marvel Marketing, Get X Media
You sell B2B, manufacture products or have long sales cyclesKonstruct Digital, CAYK Marketing
You run a law firm or medical practicedNOVO
You want a guarantee in writingGrowME Marketing, Marvel Marketing, Get X Media
You have a small budget and want no contractAndy Kuiper, Blink Digital Consulting
You want web, SEO and reputation management under one roofiNet Media, GrowME Marketing

Then run the mmore Proof Check on your final two or three: ask for a named result, a price range, the SEO share of your fee, who owns the accounts, and how they handle AI search. The agency that answers all five clearly is usually the right one. Before those calls, a quick local SEO competitor analysis of your top three rivals shows what any agency will need to beat.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an SEO agency cost in Calgary?

Ongoing SEO from a Calgary agency usually starts between $1,500 and $4,000 a month, based on prices the agencies on this list publish. Marvel Marketing’s local SEO starts at $1,500, Get X Media’s plans start at $1,750 (CAD), mmore’s managed campaigns start at C$2,000, CAYK’s minimum is $2,000, and dNOVO starts at $4,000. Andy Kuiper bills $165 an hour with no contract.

How long does SEO take to show results?

Most established businesses see rankings and Google Maps visibility start to move within three to six months. Marvel Marketing and Get X Media both cite three to six months, while Andy Kuiper says six to nine. New websites and competitive industries take longer.

Is SEO still worth it now that AI Overviews answer questions directly?

Yes, but the target has changed. AI Overviews cut clicks on the top Google result from 28% to 19% in GrowthSRC’s 2025 study, so ranking alone is no longer enough. The pages AI tools quote are usually pages that already rank well and answer questions clearly, which makes good SEO the starting point for AI visibility.

What should I ask an SEO agency before hiring?

Ask five questions: Can I see a named client result? What will it cost each month? How much of my fee goes to SEO? Will I own every account, and can I leave? How do you get clients into AI answers? These are the five checks in the mmore Proof Check.

Do I need an SEO agency based in Calgary?

No, but it helps for local SEO. A Calgary team knows the local market, shares your time zone and can meet in person. If you hire from outside Calgary, confirm who runs your account day to day and where they are based.
